Guide To Smart Home Systems For Architects, Property Developers & Home Owners

Intelligent Installations would like to share advice relating to the most common talking points that come up again and again with new clients thinking of entering into the Smart Home area.

Many Architects, Interior Designers, Developers & Home Owners are simply unsure about what actually constitutes a ‘Smart Home’ and receive incorrect information, leaving their properties without the necessary wiring infrastructure to accomplish what they hope to achieve, something that is irrevocably damaging to the project.

A true Smart Home System shouldn’t be left to the Clients to figure out once the property has been built, it should be discussed and designed in co-ordination with the Client, Architect, Interior Designers and all other relevant Stake Holders as soon as the floor plans have been drawn up.

With this short Guide, we aim to break the ‘Smart Home’ into its component parts to help inspire and educate, while also ensuring these common mistakes are avoided. We will discuss the different component parts, different technical approaches, their benefits and also some pitfalls to avoid.

Hopefully the information will give you the confidence to speak to a Smart Home professional when considering technology in your projects.

For Architects & Interior Designers that need RIBA & CIBD Accredited CPDs, we have short one hour courses to suit the below talking points which can be held at our small but perfectly formed Smart Apartment in Cornwall or your choice of location.

Please Contact Us if a CPD would be of interest or you would like a tour of our Smart Apartment.
